How do I create an account? Download the meraPA app, tap Sign Up, enter your mobile number, verify with OTP, and set up your profile. Your account is ready in under 2 minutes.
Is meraPA free to use? Yes. meraPA offers a free Basic plan with core features and limited storage. Premium features and additional storage are available with a meraPA Pro subscription.
PLANS AND BILLING
What is included in the free Basic plan? The Basic plan includes core document storage, a basic health profile, Emergency QR code, and limited cloud storage. You can use meraPA for free as long as you like on the Basic plan.
What does meraPA Pro include? meraPA Pro gives you expanded cloud storage, unlimited documents, full health profile features, AI-assisted document scanning, advanced health intelligence, priority support, and more. Current plan details and pricing are available within the app.
How is meraPA Pro billed? meraPA Pro is billed annually in Indian Rupees (INR), inclusive of GST. You will be charged once per year on your subscription renewal date.
Can I cancel my subscription? Yes. You can cancel anytime from within the app under Settings. Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
What happens to my data if I cancel? Your data remains intact. When your Pro subscription ends, your account reverts to the Basic plan. Your data is not deleted — you simply lose access to Pro features, and you keep the ability to view and export everything you have stored. You can upgrade again at any time to restore full access.
Can I get a refund? Yes. If you request a refund within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method. Email support@merapa.in to request a refund. Refunds are not available for renewal charges.
What happens if my payment fails? We will notify you and retry the payment. If the payment continues to fail, your account will revert to the Basic plan. Your data will not be deleted.
DOCUMENTS AND STORAGE
What types of documents can I store in meraPA? You can store any personal document — Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, driving licence, property documents, wills, certificates, insurance policies, medical reports, prescriptions, lab reports, invoices, warranties, and more. If it matters to you, you can store it in meraPA.
How much storage do I get? Storage limits depend on your plan. The Basic plan includes limited storage. meraPA Pro includes significantly expanded storage. Current storage limits for each plan are displayed in the app under Settings.
Can I access my documents offline? Documents you have recently viewed are cached on your device for offline access. Full offline access to all documents requires an active internet connection to sync from the cloud.
How do I upload a document? Tap the + button in the Vault section, select the document type, and either photograph it using your camera or upload from your gallery or files. meraPA's AI will automatically extract and classify key details.
Can I organise my documents into folders? Yes. You can create custom folders within the Vault to organise your documents the way you prefer.
Can I share a document with someone? You can share documents with designated Nominees through the nominee access feature. Direct document sharing outside of the nominee system is not currently supported.
HEALTH PROFILE
What is the Health Profile? The Health Profile is a comprehensive record of your medical information — blood group, allergies, medications, diagnoses, conditions, vaccination history, lab reports, prescriptions, and insurance details. It is accessible to you anytime and can be shared in emergencies via your Emergency QR code.
Can I create health profiles for my family members? Yes. meraPA supports multiple family health profiles under one account. You can manage health information for your spouse, children, parents, and other family members.
Can I store health details for my children? Yes. As an adult account holder, you can add your minor children as family profiles and store their health and emergency details as their parent or legal guardian. meraPA does not offer separate accounts to children under 18 — a responsible adult always manages a child's information.
Is my health data visible to meraPA staff? meraPA staff do not have routine access to your health records. Your health data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 using a unique key for each user, and any staff access is restricted by role-based controls and recorded in audit logs. Some features you turn on — such as the Emergency QR, AI document scanning, and reminders — require our systems (and, for AI analysis, a third-party AI provider) to process your data to provide them to you. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Can meraPA give me medical advice? No. meraPA is not a medical service. The health intelligence features provide informational summaries based on the data you enter — they are not medical diagnoses or recommendations. Always consult a qualified doctor for medical advice.
EMERGENCY QR CODE
What is the Emergency QR code? The Emergency QR code is a unique QR code linked to your account that displays selected health information when scanned — such as blood group, allergies, medications, and emergency contacts. It is designed to help medical personnel quickly access critical information in an emergency.
Who can scan my Emergency QR code? Anyone who scans the QR code can see the information you have enabled for Emergency QR display. You are in full control of which data categories appear.
How do I control what appears on my Emergency QR? Go to Health in the app, tap Emergency QR, and select the specific data categories you want to be visible when someone scans your QR.
Is the Emergency QR always active? You can activate or deactivate your Emergency QR at any time from within the app. When inactive, scanning the QR will not display any health information.
Does meraPA share my location in an emergency? Only if you turn on emergency live-location sharing. When enabled, and only during an active emergency, meraPA can share your device's live location with your emergency contacts and first responders to help them reach you. It runs only for the duration of the emergency and stops automatically after two hours or when you cancel it. meraPA does not track your location during normal use, and you can turn this feature off at any time.
What information does meraPA collect about someone who scans an Emergency QR? To keep the feature safe and prevent misuse, when a person scans an Emergency QR meraPA collects information about the person scanning it — a phone number verified by OTP, their approximate location and nearest hospital, basic device and network information, and, for hospital-level access, their name, role, and a photo. The cardholder is notified of each scan and can block misuse. This information is kept only to help detect and prevent misuse of the Emergency QR. If you scan someone's QR, you should do so only to help in a genuine emergency.
Is the Emergency QR a substitute for emergency services? No. Always call 112 in a life-threatening emergency. The Emergency QR is a convenience tool to assist first responders — it is not a medical device or emergency response system.
NOMINEES
What is a Nominee? A Nominee is a trusted person you designate to access specific categories of your data — for example, your spouse, a family member, or a trusted friend. You choose exactly which data categories each nominee can access.
How do I add a Nominee? Go to Settings, tap Nominees, and add the person's name, mobile number, and the data categories you want to share with them. They will receive a notification that they have been designated as your nominee.
Is a Nominee's identity verified? To reduce misuse, a nominee may be asked to verify their identity with a government ID and a live selfie, which are matched to confirm they are who they say they are. meraPA stores the result of that check, not a raw biometric template.
Can I change or remove a Nominee? Yes. You can modify nominee access permissions or remove a nominee at any time from the Nominees section in Settings. Changes take effect immediately.
Is a Nominee notified when they are added? Yes. Nominees receive a notification informing them they have been designated as your nominee on meraPA.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY
How does meraPA protect my data? meraPA encrypts all stored data at rest with AES-256, using a unique encryption key for each user, and uses TLS 1.3 for all data in transit. Access is protected by OTP-verified login plus device-level biometric and PIN app-lock, and staff access to personal data is limited by role-based controls and audit logging. Your data is primarily stored on servers within India.
Can meraPA staff access my documents and health records? meraPA staff do not have routine access to your documents and health records. Your data is encrypted at rest with a unique key per user, and access is restricted by role-based controls and audit logging. Limited access by authorised personnel may occur only where necessary to operate the Service, to respond to a support request you raise, or where required by law. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Is my data ever processed or stored outside India? Your data is primarily stored and processed in India. Some features rely on trusted global providers that process specific data outside India under contractual safeguards — for example, document and health analysis is performed by an AI provider, email is delivered by an email provider, and some international OTPs are sent via an international gateway. meraPA does not sell your data or use it for advertising.
What happens if I forget my PIN? You can reset your PIN from the login screen using your registered mobile number and OTP verification.
What should I do if I think my account has been compromised? Change your PIN immediately from Settings. If you are unable to access your account, contact support@merapa.in immediately. We will help you secure your account.
Does meraPA collect my location? meraPA does not track your location in the background or during normal use. Location is used only during an active emergency: if you — or someone who scans your Emergency QR — trigger an SOS, meraPA can share your live location with your emergency contacts and first responders to help them reach you. This runs only for the duration of the emergency and stops automatically after two hours or when you cancel it. You control it with the emergency location toggle and your device's location permission.
Does meraPA access my contacts or call logs? meraPA never reads or uploads your address book, SMS messages, or call logs. When you choose to add an emergency contact from your phone book, meraPA opens your contact picker and saves only the single contact you select.
Is meraPA compliant with India's data protection laws? Yes. meraPA is designed for compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act 2000, and applicable Indian privacy regulations. Your full privacy rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
REMINDERS
What types of reminders can I set? You can set reminders for medical appointments, medication schedules, insurance renewals, document expirations, warranty expirations, and any custom reminder you choose to create.
How will I receive reminder notifications? You can choose your preferred notification channel — push notification, SMS, WhatsApp, or IVR voice call — for each reminder. You can update your notification preferences at any time.
Can I set reminders for family members? Yes. You can set reminders within any family member's health profile.
ACCOUNT AND DATA
How do I update my profile information? Go to Settings and tap Edit Profile to update your name, email, date of birth, or profile photo.
Can I export all my data? Yes. You can export all your data in JSON or PDF format at any time from Settings. Your export will be ready within a few minutes.
How do I delete my account? Go to Settings, tap Account, and select Delete Account. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. This action is irreversible.
What happens to my data after I delete my account? All your personal data is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days of account deletion. Residual copies in encrypted backups are deleted within a further 30 days. Payment transaction records are retained for 8 years as required by Indian financial regulations.
Can I recover my account after deletion? No. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account.
